Overview
Har Ki Doon Valley often referred to as the Valley of Shiva, is an elongated cradle-shaped valley located in the Garhwal Himalayas. This trek is famous for its breathtaking views. It is a moderate hike that takes in a significant portion of the river. Up above is an azure blue sky. the background is snow-capped peaks and the foreground is lush greenery. It is connected to Baspa Valley via its Borasu Pass. This valley lies located approximately 3500m above sea level and is covered in snow from October until March. It is located about 25km away from Taluka.
The actual trek to the valley begins from Taluka village and goes via Gangaad, Osla and Seema. Har Ki Dun Trek Har Ki Dun Trek starts at Sankri Basecamp and covers around 47 kilometres before reaching. The whole trek takes 7 days to complete, which includes staying, travel as well as the trek itself.

Day 1: Dehradun > Sankri
Day 2: Taluka through Sankri to Puani Garaat
Day 3: Puani Garaat > Kalkattiyadhaar.
Day 4 Kalkattiyadhar >> Har Ki Doon and back to Kalkattiyadhar
Day 5: Kalkattiyadhar > Puani Garaat via Osla
Day 6: Taluka through Puani Garaat to Sankri
Day 7: Sankri > Dehradun
How to Reach
By Air: Jolly Grant Airport is located about 25 kilometres from the city, and is serving Dehradun. A daily flight departs between Delhi towards Dehradun.
By Train by Train: Travel on Trains that run from Delhi to Dehradun for the night.
By bus: Regular Bus Services are available from the Delhi ISBT Kashmere Gate to Dehradun. It is recommended to use only government buses to at the ISBT Kashmere Gate. Private buses operating outside of the ISBT Kashmere Gate are usually not reliable. The buses usually depart from Dehradun ISBT. Dehradun ISBT. Then, they can travel to Dehradun railway station by taxi or taxi.

Sankri comprises a few accommodation options, including lodges and shops and mostly caters to trek fans. This charming village sits regally amid the Swargarohini mountain range in the background.
Taluka
A popular colony on the way towards Har Ki Dun Pass, Taluka is situated at an altitude of 2075 m with striking valley views as streams flow through the Greenlands. It is home to the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Ngam (GMVN) guesthouse that can accommodate trekkers and is operated under the direction of the Government. A private forest guesthouse can also be halted by the government and provides comfortable accommodation for nature-lovers who want to take pleasure in the bliss of paradise.
Osla
Osla is a secluded village within the Mori Tehsil in Osla, which is located in the Uttarkashi District. The beautiful location provides breathtaking views of the famous mountains that surround it. Beautiful meadows and peaky mountain tops will enthral your senses with extraordinary rare flowers that line the lush meadows. It is believed that the Temple of Duryodhana is mentioned in this article and is believed to be of significant historical significance to locals.
Tears shed by people of the area are thought to have created the Tamas River. River Tamas when the demise of Duryodhan took place during the Battle of Kurukshetra. This is because the water flowing from this river is not utilized to drink.
Trek Inclusions and Exclusions
Inclusions
- Transportation to and from the base camp is included.
- First Aid kits, medicines, oxygen cylinders, Walkie-Talkie etc. are available at the campsite.
- The stay will last from beginning to close and will be included. Camping tents Homestays as well as hotels, lodges and other accommodations will be offered.
- All meals starting at breakfast and ending at dinner, beginning to end are included.
- Highly skilled trek leaders who have qualifications in advanced or basic mountaineering will be able to assist with the trek.
- Other employees include certified cooks, assistants and porters.
Exclusions
- Food will not be served on the way and trekkers will have to pay for it at their own expense.
- The trekkers must transport their bags and backpacks and other luggage themselves.
- Any personal expenses.
- The cost of the trek does not include accommodation in any place on the final day.
- Anything other than inclusion is noted as an exclusion.
